River levels close to the 1998 flood level (approximately 16.30 m) are possible at Daly River Police Station in the next few days. Significant major flooding will continue for a prolonged period. Moderate rainfall is forecast over the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required. A Minor Flood Warning is current for the Katherine River, and a Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End, Central and Western Inland Areas. Lower Daly River: Significant major flooding is occurring along the Daly River. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is currently at 15.81 m and rising, with major flooding. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station may exceed 16.20 m during Friday, close to the 1998 flood level. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
