An extended peak with a prolonged period of major flooding is expected at Daly River Police Station during the weekend and into the next week. Moderate rainfall is forecast over the next few days, which may cause further river rises. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required. A Minor Flood Warning is current for the Katherine River, and a Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End, Central and Western Inland Areas. Lower Daly River: Major flooding is occurring along the Daly River. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is currently at 15.76 m and rising, with major flooding. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station may exceed 16.00 m Friday afternoon, with major flooding. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
