Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Upper Victoria River Issued at 03:33 AM ACST on Sunday 01 March 2026 Flood Warning Number: 1 MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT KALKARINDJI FROM SUNDAY MORNING Moderate to heavy rainfall observed overnight Saturday and into Sunday has resulted in river level rises in the Upper Victoria River, with minor flooding possible at Kalkarindji from Sunday morning. Further moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast over the next few days which may cause additional river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required. Upper Victoria River: Minor flooding is possible along the Upper Victoria River at Kalkarindji. The Victoria River at Kalkarindji is currently at 6.69 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Victoria River at Kalkarindji may reach around the minor flood level (9.00 m) Sunday morning, with forecast rainfall. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
