Severe storms have now moved north of Gympie, away from far southeast Queensland. cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning - southeast queensland for the following areas: Gympie and Noosa Severe thunderstorms are no longer affecting the Southeast Queensland area (east of Dalby from Rainbow Beach to Stanthorpe). This area will continue to be monitored for additional development of thunderstorms and further warnings may be issued if necessary. This warning is now cancelled. 66.0 mm was recorded at Gympie in the 1hour to 6:30 pm. Emergency services advise people to: * Never drive, walk, play or ride through floodwater. It is dangerous. * Stay away from storm water drains. * Stay away from fallen powerlines. * Drive slowly and never drive through floodwaters. If the road is flooded or damaged, go another way. * For storm help, call the SES on 132 500 or download the free SES Assistance QLD app. A more general severe thunderstorm warning remains current for parts of the Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett districts.
