Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland Moderate Flood Warning For The Don River And Flood Warning For The Proserpine River Issued at 04:14 PM EST on Sunday 11 January 2026 Flood Warning Number: 6 MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT BOWEN PUMP STATION Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Don and Proserpine River catchments since Saturday afternoon, resulting in river and creek level rises. Moderate flooding is occurring at Bowen Pump Station. Further rainfall is forecast to continue across the Don River catchment for the remainder of Sunday as Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji moves inland. This may cause further river level rises across the catchment. The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy, locally intense rainfall is current for the Don River catchment. Don River: Moderate flooding is occurring along the Don River. Minor flooding is occurring at Ida Creek. Moderate flooding is occurring at Mt Dangar and Reeves. The Don River at Bowen Pump Station is currently at 4.30 m and steady, above the moderate flood level (4.00 m). The Don River at Bowen Pump Station is likely to reach near 4.50 metres Sunday evening, with moderate flooding. Proserpine River: River levels are elevated in the Proserpine River catchment. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
