Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Moderate Flood Warning For The Upper Brisbane River And Stanley River Issued at 09:34 AM AEST on Monday 09 March 2026 Flood Warning Number: 3 MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT WOODFORD AND GREGOR CREEK OVERNIGHT MONDAY INTO TUESDAY Moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Upper Brisbane and Stanley catchments during Sunday and into Monday. Moderate flooding may occur along the Stanley River at Woodford and along the Upper Brisbane River at Gregor Creek overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rainfall is forecast during the remainder of Monday which may cause small additional river level rises. The situation is being monitored closely and this warning will be updated as required. A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current including parts of the upper Stanley catchment. Stanley River to Somerset Dam: Moderate flooding is possible along the Stanley River at Woodford. The Stanley River at Woodford is currently at 4.15 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Stanley River at Woodford is likely to exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) from Monday afternoon. The river may peak near the moderate flood level (6.10 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Brisbane River to Wivenhoe Dam: Moderate flooding is possible along the Upper Brisbane River at Gregor Creek. The Brisbane River at Gregor Creek is currently at 2.46 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Brisbane River at Gregor Creek is likely to exceed the minor flood level (3.50 m) from Monday afternoon. The river may peak near the moderate flood level (4.50 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads. Check the ABC and local media for updates. The situation can change quickly, so stay informed.
