Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations re-issued to correct typo Moderate Flood Warning For The Suttor River Issued at 10:45 AM AEST on Tuesday 13 January 2026 Flood Warning Number: 8 MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ST ANNS LATER IN THE WEEK WITH MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE FROM TUESDAY EVENING Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the lower Burdekin River catchment since Saturday evening, with particularly heavy falls over parts of the Bowen, Belyando and Suttor River catchments. Along the Burdekin River, below minor flood peaks have been observed at Dalbeg, Clare and Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge). Along the Suttor River at St Anns, minor flooding is possible Tuesday evening, with further rises and moderate flooding possible later in the week. Further rainfall is forecast across parts of the Burdekin River catchment this week as Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji moves inland. This rainfall may result in further river and creek level rises. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required. A Flood Watch is current for adjoining catchments. Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam: Moderate flooding is possible along the Suttor River. The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 3.52 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Suttor River at St Anns may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Tuesday evening. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (6.50 m) later in the week. Further rises are possible with forecast rain. Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam: Flooding is no longer expected at Burdekin Falls Dam. The Burdekin Dam is currently at 1.16 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Burdekin Dam is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m). Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam: Flooding is no longer expected along the lower Burdekin River. The Burdekin River at Dalbeg peaked at 9.63 m around 06:00 pm Monday 12 January, below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 6.98 m and falling, below the minor flood level. The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is expected to remain below the minor flood level (10.00 m). The Burdekin River at Clare peaked at 8.43 m around 03:00 am Tuesday 13 January, below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 7.95 m and falling, below the minor flood level. The Burdekin River at Clare is expected to remain below the minor flood level (9.00 m). The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge) peaked at 6.35 m AHD around 04:00 am Tuesday 13 January, below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 6.25 m AHD and steady, below the minor flood level. The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge) is expected to remain below the minor flood level (7.00 m AHD).
