MAJOR FLOODING FALLING SLOWLY AT MARION DOWNS
MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT BEDOURIE FROM THURSDAY AND GLENGYLE FROM EARLY NEXT WEEK
A major flood peak has occurred at Marion Downs along the Georgina River and is now moving downstream. As this peak travels downstream, moderate flooding is likely to develop along Eyre Creek at Bedourie from Thursday, and further downstream at Glengyle from early next week.
Georgina River to Marion Downs:
Major flooding is occurring along the Georgina River at Marion Downs.
The Georgina River at Marion Downs peaked at 5.40 m on Saturday morning, with major flooding. The river is currently around the major flood level (5.00 m) and falling slowly.
The Georgina River at Marion Downs is likely to remain around the major flood level (5.00 m) for the remainder of Wednesday into Thursday.
Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs:
River levels likely remain elevated along the Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs.
Eyre Creek:
Moderate flooding is likely along Eyre Creek.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is currently at 3.90 m and rising slowly, with minor flooding.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (4.00 m) during Thursday. The creek may remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) into early next week.
The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is currently at 2.60 m and rising slowly, with minor flooding.
The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (3.00 m) early next week. Forecasts will be refined when upstream peaks are observed.
