RIVER LEVELS ARE ELEVATED ALONG THE NICHOLSON, GREGORY, AND ALBERT RIVERS
River levels are elevated along the Gregory, Albert, and Nicholson Rivers. At Burketown Airstrip, it is expected that the river level is rising as flows arrive from upstream.
The chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast across the catchment over the next few days, which may cause additional river level rises.
Nicholson and Gregory Rivers:
River level rises are occurring along the Gregory and Nicholson Rivers, and are expected to be occurring along the Albert River at Burketown over the next few days.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
