MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY TO CONTINUE AT ST ANNS INTO TUESDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall was observed across parts of the Burdekin River catchment during the last week, with particularly heavy falls over parts of the Belyando and Suttor River catchments. Moderate flooding is likely to continue along the Suttor River at St Anns for the next few days.
Minor flooding has now eased along the Cape River at Taemas after a peak was observed on Friday. Downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam, river levels are elevated, however, they are expected to remain below minor flood levels.
A chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast across parts of the Burdekin River catchment over the next few days. This rainfall is not expected to cause significant additional river level rises.
Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 6.98 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Suttor River at St Anns is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (6.50 m) for the next few days as upstream flows arrive.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding has eased along the Cape River at Taemas.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 4.56 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Cape River at Taemas is likely to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m).

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
