Issued at 7:39 pm Saturday, 16 May 2026. Heavy rainfall impacting Adelaide HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas: Onkaparinga, Adelaide Hills, Adelaide and Playford The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:40 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected near Glenelg and Henley Beach. This thunderstorm is moving towards the east. It is forecast to affect Adelaide City, Blackwood and Woodville by 8:10 pm and Tea Tree Gully, Modbury and Athelstone by 8:40 pm. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water. * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby. A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Adelaide Metropolitan and parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges, North West Pastoral, Flinders and North East Pastoral districts.
