Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology South Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Winds for parts of Lower South East district. Issued at 5:04 am Thursday, 2 July 2026. Damaging winds developing over coastal parts of the Lower South East Thursday evening. Weather Situation A cold front is moving east out of the state early this morning, before a deep low pressure system expected to pass to the south later on Thursday. DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas: Lower South East The immediate threat of DAMAGING WINDS has eased, but DAMAGING WEST TO SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS averaging 50-65 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are likely over the Lower South East coast during Thursday evening, easing later on Friday morning. Locations which may be affected include Robe and Millicent. Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and Murraylands districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED. Cancellation for the following areas: Yorke Peninsula,Kangaroo Island,Murraylands,Lower Eyre Peninsula,Mount Lofty Ranges The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Move vehicles under cover or away from trees; * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
