Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology South Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Heavy Rainfall for Mount Lofty Ranges and parts of Adelaide Metropolitan, Mid North, Murraylands and Upper South East districts. Issued at 2:51 pm Sunday, 9 August 2026. Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms possible. Weather Situation A line of showers and thunderstorms may result in areas of heavy rainfall extending from Clare through to parts of the southern Fleurieu Peninsula. HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas: Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North, Murraylands and Upper South East Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Clare, Gawler and Victor Harbor. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water. * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
