Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning
for Western, Upper Derwent Valley, South East, East Coast and Midlands Forecast Districts.
Issued at 6:45 pm Sunday, 22 February 2026.
Damaging winds in the south and southeast have eased.
Weather Situation
A cold front has passed over southern Tasmania with a breezy southwesterly flow in its wake.
cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas:
Western, Upper Derwent Valley, South East, East Coast and Midlands
Wind speeds have eased below warning thresholds and this warning is now cancelled.
Sustained 68 km/h winds were recorded at Hobart at 1:20 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Do not walk, ride or drive through flood waters.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.
No further warnings will be issued for this event.
