Cancellation Of Severe Thunderstorm Warning
for North East, East Coast, Central North and Midlands Forecast Districts.

Heavy rainfall that affected parts of northeast Tasmania has contracted east and eased.
Weather Situation
A cold front traversed Tasmania that when combined with an upper-level trough and high atmospheric moisture generated severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall over parts of northeast Tasmania today. The risk of severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall has now passed with the cold front moving off the east coast.

This warning is now cancelled. Further showers and isolated thunderstorms remain possible for eastern parts of Tasmania for an hour or two this evening.
87.2 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT LLEWELLYN IN THE 3 HOURS TO 7:14 PM.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.
No further warnings will be issued for this event.
