Issued at 9:16 pm Friday, 2 October 2026. Severe thunderstorms have eased this evening. Weather Situation A surface low developing through western Victoria is expected to produce persistent rainfall through central western parts of the state throughout the evening, however thunderstorms are unlikely. cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas: Mallee, South West, Northern Country, North Central and Wimmera This warning is now cancelled. 29.4 mm was recorded at Donald in the 30 minutes to 7:37 pm. 35.2 mm was recorded at Warracknabeal in the 2 hours to 6:00 pm. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
