Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Moderate Flood Warning For The Ovens And King Rivers Issued at 09:39 AM AEST on Thursday 13 August 2026 Flood Warning Number: 15 MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT WANGARATTA AND ESTIMATED TO BE OCCURRING AT DOCKER ROAD BRIDGE Rainfall across the Ovens and King River catchments during Sunday and Monday has resulted in river level rises and areas of minor to major flooding. Rainfall has now eased, and moderate flooding is easing at Wangaratta and estimated to be easing at Docker Rd Bridge. King River: Moderate flooding is estimated to be occurring at Docker Rd Bridge. No observations are currently available for the King River at Docker Rd Bridge. The river level is estimated to be around the moderate flood level and falling slowly. The King River at Docker Rd Bridge may fall below the moderate flood level (3.95 m) Thursday afternoon. The river may remain above the minor flood level (3.70 m) until Friday morning. Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point: Moderate flooding is occurring at Wangaratta. The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 12.45 m and falling, with moderate flooding. The Ovens River at Wangaratta may fall below the moderate flood level (12.40 m) Thursday afternoon. The river is likely to remain above the minor flood level (11.90 m) until Saturday. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
