MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT DOCKER RD BRIDGE LATE FRIDAY MORNING
MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT WANGARATTA FROM LATE FRIDAY MORNING
MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE BUFFALO
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BRIGHT, EUROBIN, ROCKY POINT, DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE WILLIAM HOVELL
Moderate rainfall since Monday has caused significant river level rises and areas of flooding across the Ovens and King River catchments.
Moderate flooding is occurring along the King River at Docker Road Bridge, with major flooding possible from late Friday morning.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Ovens River at Wangaratta, with moderate flooding likely from late Friday morning.
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Buffalo River downstream of Lake Buffalo.
Minor flooding is occurring along the King River downstream of Lake William Hovell and along the Ovens River at Bright, Eurobin and Rocky Point.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of Gippsland, North East and Central Victoria.
Ovens River to Bright:
Minor flooding is occurring at Bright.
The Ovens River at Bright is currently at 3.17 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Bright may peak near 3.30 m Friday afternoon, with minor flooding.
Buckland River:
Minor flooding is occurring at Harris Lane
Buffalo River:
Moderate flooding is occurring downstream of Lake Buffalo.
The Buffalo River at Lake Buffalo (Downstream) is currently at 5.26 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Buffalo River at Lake Buffalo (Downstream) is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (5.00 m) for the remainder of Friday.
Ovens River Bright to Rocky Point:
Minor flooding is occurring at Eurobin and Rocky Point.
The Ovens River at Eurobin is currently at 4.93 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Eurobin may peak near 5.10 m Friday afternoon, with minor flooding. The river is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) for the remainder of Friday.
The Ovens River at Rocky Point is currently at 3.85 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Rocky Point may peak near 4.20 m Friday evening, with minor flooding.
King River:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Docker Rd Bridge, with major flooding possible. Moderate flooding is occurring at Cheshunt. Minor flooding is occurring downstream of Lake William Hovell.
The King River at Lake William Hovell (Downstream) is currently at 2.27 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The King River at Lake William Hovell (Downstream) is likely to remain above the minor flood level (1.80 m) for the remainder of Friday.
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge is currently at 4.08 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge is likely to exceed the major flood level (4.10 m) late Friday morning. The river may peak near the major flood level (4.10 m) Friday afternoon.
Fifteen Mile Creek:
Flooding has eased around Greta South.
The Fifteen Mile Creek at Greta South peaked at 3.22 m around 01:00 am Friday, with minor flooding. The creek is currently at 2.55 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Fifteen Mile Creek at Greta South is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.80 m).
Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point:
Moderate flooding is likely at Wangaratta.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 12.10 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (12.40 m) late Friday morning. The river may reach around 12.50 m Friday afternoon, with moderate flooding. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
