MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT DOCKER ROAD BRIDGE MONDAY MORNING AND POSSIBLE AT WANGARATTA MONDAY EVENING
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GRETA SOUTH, EUROBIN AND ROCKY POINT AND DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE WILLIAM HOVELL AND DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE BUFFALO
MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT BRIGHT FROM MONDAY MORNING
Rainfall across the Ovens and King River catchment since Sunday morning has resulted in river level rises and minor flooding along the Ovens and King Rivers. Moderate rainfall is forecast to continue for the remainder of Monday, which may result in further river level rises and areas of minor to moderate flooding.
The situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of North East, Gippsland and Central Victoria.
Ovens River to Bright:
Minor flooding is likely at Bright.
The Ovens River at Bright is currently at 3.00 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Ovens River at Bright is likely to exceed the minor flood level (3.00 m) Monday morning.
Buckland River:
River levels are elevated along the Buckland River.
Buffalo River:
Minor flooding is occurring downstream of Lake Buffalo.
The Buffalo River at Lake Buffalo (Downstream) is currently at 3.73 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Buffalo River at Lake Buffalo (Downstream) is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.20 m) during Monday.
Ovens River Bright to Rocky Point:
Minor flooding is occurring at Eurobin and Rocky Point.
The Ovens River at Eurobin is currently at 4.73 m and around a peak, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Eurobin is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) during Monday.
The Ovens River at Rocky Point is currently at 3.47 m and around a peak, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Rocky Point may remain above the minor flood level (3.20 m) during Monday. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rain.
King River:
Moderate flooding is likely at Docker Road Bridge and occurring at Cheshunt. Minor flooding is occurring at Lake William Hovell (Downstream).
The King River at Lake William Hovell (Downstream) is currently at 2.25 m and rising, above the minor flood level.
The King River at Lake William Hovell (Downstream) may remain above the minor flood level (1.80 m) during Monday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
No observations are currently available for the King River at Docker Rd Bridge. The river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level and rising.
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (3.95 m) Monday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
Fifteen Mile Creek:
Minor flooding is occurring at Greta South.
The Fifteen Mile Creek at Greta South peaked at around 4.60 m on Monday morning and is currently at 4.18 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Fifteen Mile Creek at Greta South is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.80 m) during Monday.
Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point:
Moderate flooding is possible at Wangaratta.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 10.08 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is likely to exceed the minor flood level (11.90 m) Monday afternoon. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (12.40 m) Monday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rain. Peak forecasts will be provided as upstream peaks are observed.
