Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Goulburn River Issued at 10:42 AM AEST on Saturday 04 July 2026 Flood Warning Number: 11 MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT SEYMOUR MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT MURCHISON AND SHEPPARTON FROM SATURDAY EVENING Moderate rainfall since Monday has caused river and creek level rises in the Goulburn River catchment, where minor flooding is occurring at Seymour. Minor flooding may extend downstream to Murchison and Shepparton from Saturday evening. Yea River: Minor flooding has eased at Yea, however river levels remain elevated. Goulburn River Lake Eildon to Seymour: Minor flooding is occurring along the Goulburn River at Seymour. The Goulburn River at Seymour is currently at 4.05 m and rising, with minor flooding. The Goulburn River at Seymour may fall below the minor flood level (3.80 m) Saturday afternoon. Hughes Creek: Minor flooding has eased along the Hughes Creek at Tarcombe Road. Goulburn River Seymour to Shepparton: Minor flooding is possible along the Goulburn River at Murchison and Shepparton. The Goulburn River at Murchison is currently at 8.48 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Goulburn River at Murchison may peak near the minor flood level (9.00 m) Saturday evening. The Goulburn River at Shepparton is currently at 9.02 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Goulburn River at Shepparton may exceed the minor flood level (9.50 m) Saturday evening. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads. Check the ABC and local media for updates.
