Northern Country, North East, East Gippsland and West and South Gippsland
Cancellation for the following areas:
South West, Mallee, North Central, Central and Wimmera
Safety Advice:
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Maximum temperature in the eastern parts of VIC in the mid twenties to mid thirties on Saturday, reducing to mid teens to low thirties on Sunday, before increasing back to mid twenties to mid thirties again early next week. Minimum temperature in the low teens on early Sunday morning, with single digit over the elevated ranges.
Severe to extreme heatwave conditions has eased over the western and central parts, with the cool change through the State on Friday and Saturday morning. Locations likely to be impacted include Albury-Wodonga, Bairnsdale, Corryong, Mallacoota, Orbost, Omeo, Shepparton, Sale and Wangaratta.
