RIVER LEVELS PEAKING JUST ABOVE THE MAJOR FLOOD LEVEL AT DOCKER RD BRIDGE
MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT WANGARATTA
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BRIGHT, EUROBIN, ROCKY POINT, DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE BUFFALO AND DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE WILLIAM HOVELL
Moderate rainfall since Monday has caused significant river level rises and areas of flooding across the Ovens and King River catchments. Showers are forecast to continue through Friday, then ease over the weekend.
River levels along the King River at Docker Road Bridge are currently peaking just above the major flood level.
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Ovens River at Wangaratta.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Buffalo River downstream of Lake Buffalo, along the King River downstream of Lake William Hovell and along the Ovens River at Bright, Eurobin and Rocky Point.
Ovens River to Bright:
Minor flooding is occurring at Bright.
The Ovens River at Bright peaked at 3.29 m around 11:00 am Friday 3 July, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 3.17 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Bright may fall below the minor flood level (3.00 m) Saturday morning.
Buckland River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Buckland River around Harris Lane.
Buffalo River:
Minor flooding is occurring downstream of Lake Buffalo.
The Buffalo River at Lake Buffalo (Downstream) peaked at 5.31 m around 10:45 am Friday 3 July, with moderate flooding. The river is currently at 4.95 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Buffalo River at Lake Buffalo (Downstream) is likely to remain above the minor flood level (3.20 m) during Saturday.
Ovens River Bright to Rocky Point:
Minor flooding is occurring at Eurobin and Rocky Point.
The Ovens River at Eurobin peaked at 4.94 m around 03:00 pm Friday 03 July, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 4.86 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Eurobin may fall below the minor flood level (4.50 m) Saturday morning.
The Ovens River at Rocky Point is currently at 4.28 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Ovens River at Rocky Point may peak near 4.30 m Friday evening, with minor flooding. The river may remain above the minor flood level (3.20 m) during Saturday.
King River:
River levels are peaking just above the major flood level at Docker Rd Bridge. Minor flooding is occurring downstream of Lake William Hovell and Cheshunt.
The King River at Lake William Hovell (Downstream) is currently at 2.17 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The King River at Lake William Hovell (Downstream) is likely to remain above the minor flood level (1.80 m) overnight Friday into Saturday.
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge is currently at 4.14 m and peaking just above the major flood level (4.10 m).
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge is likely to remain above the major flood level (4.10 m) overnight Friday into Saturday. The river may remain above the moderate flood level (3.95 m) into Saturday morning.
Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Wangaratta.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 12.47 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta may reach around 12.60 m Saturday morning, with moderate flooding.
