Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Moderate Flood Warning For The Loddon River Issued at 11:37 AM AEST on Thursday 20 August 2026 Flood Warning Number: 16 MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT LAANECOORIE RESERVOIR (TW) AND BET BET MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT APPIN SOUTH Rainfall during Tuesday and Wednesday has caused renewed river level rises along the Loddon River catchment upstream of Appin South. Moderate flooding is occurring at Bet Bet and Laanecoorie Reservoir (TW). Renewed minor flooding is occurring at Loddon Weir (TW). Further downstream the flood peak from rainfall last week has passed through Appin South, where river levels are slowly falling. River level rises are occurring at Kerang. Loddon River upstream of Laanecoorie: Moderate flooding is occurring at Bet Bet. Loddon River Laanecoorie to Loddon Weir: Moderate flooding is occurring at Laanecoorie Reservior (TW). The Loddon River at Laanecoorie Reservior (TW) is currently at 3.15 m and rising, with moderate flooding. The Loddon River at Laanecoorie Reservior (TW) may remain above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) until Friday morning. The river may remain above the minor flood level (1.50 m) until Saturday. Loddon River Loddon Weir to Kerang: Minor flooding is occurring at Loddon Weir (TW) and Appin South. The Loddon River at Appin South is currently at 3.00 m and slowly falling, with minor flooding. The Loddon River at Appin South is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.80 m) for the next few days. Renewed river level rises are likely from the weekend with the arrival of upstream floodwaters. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads. Check the ABC and local media for updates.
