Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 01:58 PM WST on Wednesday 17 December 2025 Valid for Wednesday 17 December 2025 to Wednesday 17 December 2025 Warning for the following areas: Goldfields, Eucla, South Coastal, South East Coastal and Great Southern Cancellation for the following areas: South Interior and Central Wheat Belt Safety Advice: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures ranging from the low thirties to mid forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid teens to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions over southern central parts are expected to ease on Thursday as a trough and cooler change extends through to southeast WA. Severe heatwave conditions have eased over the Central Wheat Belt and the South Interior. Locations likely to be impacted include Hopetoun, Kalgoorlie, Laverton and Ravensthorpe. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 2:00pm WST on Thursday 18 December 2025
