Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields and South Interior
Cancellation for the following areas:
North Interior, Kimberley and Eucla
Safety Advice:
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Maximum temperatures generally in the low to mid forties, reaching high forties in parts of northwest WA, easing to the low to mid thirties across affected parts of southern WA during the second half of the week. Overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties, reaching high twenties in parts of northwest WA.
Severe heatwave conditions are peaking about the south of WA and are expected to contract northward over the second half of the week.
Severe heatwave conditions have eased over the Eucla, however low intensity heatwave conditions continue. Severe heatwave conditions have also eased over the North Interior and Kimberley however are expected to return later in the week and over the weekend. Locations likely to be impacted include Exmouth, Laverton, Leinster, Leonora, Meekatharra, Newman, Paraburdoo, Wiluna and Warburton.
