Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 01:49 PM WST on Sunday 21 December 2025 Valid for Sunday 21 December 2025 to Wednesday 24 December 2025 Warning for the following areas: Pilbara, Gascoyne and Central West Safety Advice: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to mid forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the low to high twenties through the Pilbara and northwest parts of the Gascoyne district, extending to the Central West mid week. Severe heatwave conditions are likely to persist, extending to the Central West during the early part of the week. Locations likely to be impacted include Carnarvon, Exmouth, Geraldton, Karratha, Kalbarri and Paraburdoo. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 2:00pm WST on Monday 22 December 2025
