Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia Fire Weather Warning for Lockwood, Avon, Swan Inland North, Brockman, Blackwood, Roe and Arthur fire weather districts Issued at 02:16 AM WST on Friday 16 January 2026 Weather Situation Hot and dry conditions with freshening west to northwesterly winds will lead to extreme fire dangers on Friday. High-based thunderstorms are also possible through central, southern and eastern parts of the Southwest Land Division on Friday, bringing the potential for dry lightning. For the rest of Friday 16 January: Extreme Fire Danger for the following areas: Lockwood, Avon, Swan Inland North, Brockman, Blackwood, Roe and Arthur The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises you to: Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now. Monitor the fire and weather situation through your local radio station, www.emergency.wa.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au. Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency. No further warnings will be issued for this event, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings issued if necessary.
