Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 01:37 PM WST on Friday 12 December 2025 Valid for Friday 12 December 2025 to Monday 15 December 2025 Warning for the following areas: Gascoyne, Lower West, South West, South Coastal and Great Southern Cancellation for the following areas: South Interior Safety Advice: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to mid forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid twenties over the Gascoyne. Maximum temperatures ranging from the mid thirties to low forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties over southwestern districts. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to shift towards the southwest, intensify over the weekend, and persist over southern WA into next week. Severe heatwave conditions over the South Interior have eased, however low intensity heatwave conditions may linger for the next few days. Locations likely to be impacted include the Perth Metropolitan Area, Collie, Gingin, Katanning, Meekatharra, Manjimup, Mount Barker, Narrogin, Wagin and Yanchep. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 2:00pm WST on Saturday 13 December 2025
