Tropical cyclone Mitchell is currently cat 3 and moving slowly west-soutwestwards close to the Pilbara. This system will generate heavy rain and damaging winds near coastal areas. Elsewhere across the state its dry and mostly clear. Scattered storms expected in the far northeast.
