Moderate flooding is occurring at Daly River Police Station, with major flooding expected from Saturday evening. Further rainfall is possible over the next few days. The situation will be closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required. A major flood warning is current for the Katherine River, a flood watch is current for parts of the Bonaparte, North West Coastal and Carpentaria Coastal River catchments. Daly River above Douglas River: River level rises are occurring in the upper Daly River, and flooding will continue for at least the next few days. Fergusson River: River levels are elevated along the Fergusson River and tributaries. Lower Daly River: Major flooding is expected along the Daly River. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is currently at 13.56 m and rising, with moderate flooding. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is expected to exceed the major flood level (14.00 m) Saturday evening. The river is likely to reach around 14.50 m late Sunday morning, with major flooding. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
