Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Paroo River (Qld) Issued at 02:51 PM AEST on Tuesday 24 February 2026 Flood Warning Number: 10 MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT HUNGERFORD The main flood peak along the Paroo River has moved through Caiwarro and is approaching Hungerford, where minor flooding is likely to peak overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Further rainfall is forecast across the catchment during the next few days, which may lead to additional river and creek level rises. This situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required. A minor flood warning is current for the Paroo River in NSW. Paroo River downstream of Eulo: Minor flooding is occurring at Hungerford. At 6:00 am Tuesday, the Paroo River at Hungerford was 1.22 m and rising, with minor flooding. The Paroo River at Hungerford is likely to peak near 1.30 m overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, with minor flooding. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
