MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BUNDABERG FROM LATE TUESDAY MORNING
MAJOR FLOODING EXPECTED TO BE OCCURRING AT DUNOLLIE AND BRIAN PASTURES, AND POSSIBLE AT MUNDUBBERA, GAYNDAH, STONELANDS AND WALLA FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT EIDSVOLD BRIDGE FROM OVERNIGHT MONDAY
Heavy rainfall has been recorded over the Burnett River catchment since Friday morning, with further heavy rainfall forecast for the remainder of Monday. This has caused significant river and creek level rises along the Burnett River and tributaries, where moderate to major flooding is possible at multiple locations, including moderate flooding possible at Bundaberg. Further river level rises are possible.
The situation is being monitored closely and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current.
Burnett River to Mundubbera:
Major flooding is possible at Mundubbera, and moderate flooding is possible at Eidsvold Bridge.
No observations are currently available for the Burnett River at Eidsvold Bridge. The river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level and rising.
The Burnett River at Eidsvold Bridge is likely to exceed the minor flood level (6.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (9.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
The Burnett River at Mundubbera is currently at 13.72 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Burnett River at Mundubbera may exceed the major flood level (18.00 m) Monday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
Auburn River:
River level rises are occurring along the Auburn River. Major flooding is occurring at Brovinia and Dykehead.
Stuart and Boyne Rivers:
Major flooding is occurring along the Stuart River at Proston and the Boyne River at Carters. Major flooding is expected to be occurring at Dunollie.
No observations are currently available for the Boyne River at Dunollie. The river level is estimated to be above the major flood level and rising.
The Boyne River at Dunollie is likely to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) during Monday and into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
Barker and Barambah Creeks:
Major flooding is expected to be occurring at Brian Pastures and is likely to develop at Stonelands.
The Barambah Creek at Stonelands is currently at 10.79 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Barambah Creek at Stonelands is likely to exceed the major flood level (11.50 m) Monday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
No observations are currently available for the Barambah Creek at Brian Pastures. The river level is estimated to be above the major flood level and rising.
The Barambah Creek at Brian Pastures is likely to remain above the major flood level (9.00 m) during Monday and into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
Burnett River downstream of Mundubbera to Paradise Dam:
Major flooding is possible at Gayndah.
The Burnett River at Gayndah is currently at 6.25 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Burnett River at Gayndah is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (8.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river may exceed the major flood level (15.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
Burnett River downstream of Paradise Dam:
Major flooding is possible at Walla. Moderate flooding is possible at Bundaberg.
No observations are currently available for the Burnett River at Walla. The river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level and rising.
The Burnett River at Walla is likely to exceed the minor (6.00 m) and moderate flood levels (8.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river may exceed the major flood level (12.00 m) Monday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
The Burnett River at Bundaberg is currently at 1.32 m and rising with the tide, below the minor flood level.
The Burnett River at Bundaberg is likely to exceed the minor flood level (3.50 m) early Tuesday morning. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (5.50 m) from late Tuesday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
