Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Paroo River (Qld) Issued at 11:49 AM AEST on Monday 09 March 2026 Flood Warning Number: 21 MINOR FLOOD PEAK EXPECTED AT HUNGERFORD TUESDAY MORNING Renewed river level rises above the minor flood level are occurring along the the Paroo River at Hungerford. A minor flood peak is likely Tuesday morning. This peak is likely to be lower than minor flood peaks observed at Hungerford during February. Upstream, a minor flood peak was observed at Caiwarro early Sunday morning. A Minor Flood Warning is also current for the Paroo River in NSW. Paroo River downstream of Eulo: Minor flooding is occurring along the Paroo River downstream of Eulo. The Paroo River at Hungerford is currently at 1.12 m and rising, with minor flooding. The Paroo River at Hungerford is likely to peak near 1.20 m Tuesday morning, with minor flooding. The river is likely to remain above the minor flood level (1.00 m) through to the end of the week. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
