NEAR MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WINDORAH AND JUNDAH
MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT STONEHENGE AND POSSIBLE AT CAMOOLA PARK
A major flood peak along the Thomson River is passing through Jundah. Upstream at Camoola Park, Longreach and Stonehenge river levels are falling slowly. Along the Barcoo River, flooding is easing with the main peak now downstream of Retreat.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for upper parts of the Thomson and Barcoo Rivers during Sunday and into Monday. Renewed moderate flooding possible at Camoola Park and minor flooding possible at Blackall, Jericho and Barcaldine.
Along the Cooper Creek, renewed near major flooding is occurring at Windorah (Main Channel). Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive from the Thomson and Barcoo Rivers, with a flood peak forecast to reach Windorah early next week.
Peak forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
The situation is being monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
Thomson River:
Minor to major flooding is occurring along the Thomson River.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is currently at 3.30 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park may reach around the moderate flood level (4.00 m) Tuesday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
The Thomson River at Longreach is currently at 4.18 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Thomson River at Longreach is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.30 m) early this week. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
No observations are currently available for the Thomson River at Stonehenge. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to be above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) and steady around a peak.
The Thomson River at Stonehenge may remain around 3.50 m, near its peak early this week, with moderate flooding.
The Thomson River at Jundah is currently at 4.98 m and peaking, with near major flooding.
The Thomson River at Jundah may remain around the major flood level (5.00 m) until Tuesday. Further rises are possible.
Barcoo River to Isisford:
Minor flooding possible along the Barcoo River.
No observations are currently available for the Barcoo River at Blackall. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river is estimated to be below the minor flood level (2.00 m) and steady.
The Barcoo River at Blackall may reach around the minor flood level (2.00 m) Monday afternoon. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

The Barcoo River at Retreat is currently at 1.48 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Barcoo River at Retreat is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.14 m) for the next few days. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rain.
Cooper Creek:
Major flooding is estimated to be occurring along the Cooper Creek at Windorah.
The Cooper Creek at Windorah is currently around the major flood level (5.00 m).
The Cooper Creek at Windorah may remain around the major flood level for the next few days. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
