Moderate flooding is occurring at Richmond Post Office with further rises and major flooding likely during Monday afternoon. Downstream, river levels continue rising along the lower Flinders River and its tributaries, with major flooding expected to continue at Walkers Bend for the next few days. Further areas of rainfall are forecast for the remainder of Monday, which may lead to further river level rises. Flinders River to Richmond: Major flooding is likely along the Flinders River to Richmond. No current river level observations are available for the Flinders River at Richmond Post Office. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is expected to be above the moderate flood level and rising. The Flinders River at Richmond Post Office is likely to exceed the major flood level (8.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river may exceed 8.20 m overnight Monday into Tuesday, with major flooding. Higher levels may be possible with forecast rainfall. Flinders River downstream of Richmond: Major flooding is occurring along the Flinders River downstream of Richmond. The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is currently at 10.29 m and rising, with major flooding. The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is expected to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) for the next few days. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
