MINOR FLOOD PEAK OCCURRING AT HUNGERFORD, RENEWED RISES POSSIBLE INTO NEXT WEEK
The main flood peak along the Paroo River in Queensland is currently passing through Hungerford, where a prolonged minor flood peak is occurring. Further upstream, another peak is approaching Caiwarro, where renewed minor flooding is occurring.
Further rainfall remains possible across the catchment during the next few days, which may lead to additional river level rises.
A Minor Flood Warning is current for the Paroo River in NSW.
Paroo River downstream of Eulo:
Minor flooding is occurring at Hungerford.
The Paroo River at Hungerford began peaking at 1.26 m around 03:30 pm Wednesday 25 February, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 1.25 m and steady around this peak, with minor flooding.
The Paroo River at Hungerford is likely to remain above the minor flood level (1.00 m) for the remainder of Friday and into Saturday. Renewed rises are likely into next week as flows arrive from upstream. Forecasts will be updated as upstream peaks are observed.
