MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG CHARLEYS CREEK AT CHINCHILLA
MODERATE FLOODING CONTINUING ALONG THE LOWER CONDAMINE RIVER AT CHINCHILLA WEIR
MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT CONDAMINE TOWNSHIP OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall over the lower Condamine River, Charleys Creek and Myall Creek catchments has caused significant river and creek level rises. Multiple flood peaks are travelling through the catchments. Major flooding is occurring along Charleys Creek and moderate to major flooding is forecast along the lower Condamine River over the next few days.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.
Condamine River downstream of Oakey Creek to Cotswold:
Major flooding is possible along the Lower Condamine River.
The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir TW is currently at 8.24 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir TW is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (8.00 m) during Wednesday and into Thursday, with small renewed rises possible.
The Condamine River at Condamine is currently at 7.55 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Condamine River at Condamine may peak around the major flood level (8.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Peak forecasts will be provided as upstream flood peaks are observed.
Charleys Creek:
Major flooding is occurring along Charleys Creek at Chinchilla and upstream at Burncluith Bridge.
The Charleys Creek at Chinchilla is currently at 6.41 m and steady, with major flooding.
The Charleys Creek at Chinchilla may peak near 6.80 m Thursday morning, with major flooding.
