Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Moderate Flood Warning For The Goulburn River Issued at 10:34 AM AEST on Friday 03 July 2026 Flood Warning Number: 9 MODERATE FLOODING EASING AT SEYMOUR MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT SHEPPARTON FROM EARLY SATURDAY MORNING MINOR FLOODING EASING AT TAGGERTY Moderate rainfall since Monday has caused river and creek level rises in the Goulburn River catchment, where minor flooding is easing at Taggerty and moderate flooding is easing at Seymour. Flooding may extend downstream to Shepparton from early Saturday morning. A Flood Watch is current for Parts of Gippsland, North East and Central Victoria. Acheron River: Minor flooding is easing along the Acheron River at Taggerty. The Acheron River at Taggerty peaked at 2.37 m around 12:45 am Friday, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 2.26 m and steady, near the minor flood level. The Acheron River at Taggerty may remain around the minor flood level (2.30 m) until Friday afternoon. Yea River: Minor flooding is occurring at Yea. King Parrot Creek: River levels are elevated along the King Parrot Creek. Sunday Creek: Minor flooding is occurring along the Sunday Creek at Tallarook. Goulburn River Lake Eildon to Seymour: Moderate flooding is easing along the Goulburn River at Seymour. The Goulburn River at Seymour peaked at 5.33 m around 06:15 am Friday, with moderate flooding. The river is currently at 5.17 m and steady, near the moderate flood level. The Goulburn River at Seymour may remain around the moderate flood level (5.20 m) until Friday afternoon. Hughes Creek: Minor flooding is occurring along the Hughes Creek at Tarcombe Road. Goulburn River Seymour to Shepparton: Minor flooding is possible along the Goulburn River at Shepparton. The Goulburn River at Shepparton is currently at 7.89 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Goulburn River at Shepparton may exceed the minor flood level (9.50 m) early Saturday morning. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
