Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Moderate Flood Warning For The Goulburn River Issued at 03:11 AM AEST on Friday 03 July 2026 Flood Warning Number: 8 MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT SEYMOUR EARLY FRIDAY MORNING MINOR FLOODING CONTINUING AT TAGGERTY Moderate rainfall since Monday has caused river and creek level rises in the Goulburn River catchment. Rainfall is forecast to continue through to Friday, which is likely to result in further rises and areas of flooding across the Goulburn River catchment. A Flood Watch is current for Parts of Gippsland, North East and Central Victoria. Acheron River: Minor flooding is continuing along the Acheron River at Taggerty. The Acheron River at Taggerty is currently at 2.37 m and steady, with minor flooding. The Acheron River at Taggerty is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.30 m) Friday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain. Yea River: Minor flooding is occurring at Yea. King Parrot Creek: River levels are elevated along the King Parrot Creek. Sunday Creek: Minor flooding is occurring along the Sunday Creek at Tallarook. Goulburn River Lake Eildon to Seymour: Moderate flooding is possible along the Goulburn River at Seymour. The Goulburn River at Seymour is currently at 4.97 m and rising, with minor flooding. The Goulburn River at Seymour may exceed the moderate flood level (5.20 m) early Friday morning. Hughes Creek: Moderate flooding is occurring along the Hughes Creek at Tarcombe Road. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads. Check the ABC and local media for updates.
