MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BRENDA AND GOODOOGA
MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT KENEBREE AND POSSIBLE AT WEILMORINGLE AND GOODWINS FROM THURSDAY ONWARDS
Multiple flood peaks are causing minor flooding along the Culgoa, Birrie, and Bokhara Rivers. The main flood peak along the Culgoa River is now around Brenda and may cause minor flooding at Weilmoringle from Friday and Kenebree from Thursday as it travels downstream.
Along the Birrie and Bokhara Rivers, river levels are peaking above the minor flood level at Goodooga. Downstream along the Bokhara River, minor flooding may develop at Goodwins from Thursday.
Upstream in Queensland, another flood peak is now approaching Whyenbah, which may cause renewed or prolonged flooding along the Culgoa, Birrie, Bokhara and Narran Rivers in the coming days and weeks. Additionally, further rainfall is forecast across the catchment for the remainder of Wednesday into Thursday, which may cause small renewed rises depending on the timing and location of the heaviest falls. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A minor flood warning is current for the Lower Balonne and Bokhara Rivers in Queensland.
Culgoa River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Culgoa River.
The Culgoa River at Brenda is currently steady at a peak near 5.45 metres, with minor flooding.
The Culgoa River at Brenda is expected to remain above the minor flood level (4.90 metres) through to the weekend. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Culgoa River at Weilmoringle is currently at 4.93 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (5.20 m).
The Culgoa River at Weilmoringle may reach the minor flood level (5.20 m) during Friday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Culgoa River at Kenebree is currently at 4.37 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (4.70 metres).
The Culgoa River at Kenebree is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.70 m) during Thursday. The river level may reach around 5.30 metres from Tuesday next week, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
Birrie River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Birrie River.
The Birrie River at Goodooga is currently steady at a peak near 3.80 metres, above the minor flood level (3.20 metres).
The Birrie River at Goodooga is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.20 metres) through to the weekend. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
Bokhara River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Bokhara River.
The Bokhara River at Goodooga is currently steady at a peak near 3.20 metres, above the minor flood level (2.70 metres).
The Bokhara River at Goodooga is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.70 m) through to the weekend. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Bokhara River at Goodwins is currently at 1.15 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (1.15 metres).
The Bokhara River at Goodwins may reach the minor flood level (2.00 metres) during Thursday.
