    MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED TO BE OCCURRING AT MIRANI AND POSSIBLE AT MACKAY SATURDAY AFTERNOON
     Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Pioneer River catchment during the last few days and minor flooding is expected to be occurring at Mirani and possible at Mackay from Saturday afternoon.
     Localised flooding is occurring in parts of the Pioneer River catchment. Moderate flooding is occurring at Walkerston, and minor flooding is occurring at Finch Hatton Showgrounds, Gargett and Mirani Township.
     Significant rainfall is forecast for the remainder of the weekend and into next week which may cause further river and creek level rises in the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
     A severe weather warning is current for Herbert and Lower Burdekin and parts of North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders Forecast Districts.
    
    Pioneer River:
    Minor flooding is expected to be occurring along the Pioneer River.
    
    River level observations are not available for the Pioneer River at Mirani, however the river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level (6.00 m) and rising.
    The Pioneer River at Mirani may remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Saturday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
    
    The Pioneer River at Mackay is currently at 5.20 metres and rising.
    The Pioneer River at Mackay may exceed the minor flood level (6.30 m) Saturday afternoon. The river level may reach around 6.50 metres (3.60 metres AHD) Saturday afternoon with the high tide.
