MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG BOYNE RIVER AT DUNOLLIE, NEAR MODERATE FLOOD PEAK OCCURRED EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE ALONG BURNETT RIVER AT MUNDUBBERA, GAYNDAH AND WALLA DURING FRIDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall early this week has resulted in river and creek level rises across most of the Burnett River catchment.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Boyne River at Dunollie, where a near moderate flood peak occurred early Friday morning. Minor flooding is possible along the Burnett River at Mundubbera, Gayndah and Walla during Friday.
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms remain possible until Saturday, however forecast rainfall totals are not expected to significantly affect river levels at this stage.
Burnett River to Mundubbera:
Minor flooding may occur along the Burnett River at Mundubbera, as flows arrive from the Auburn, Boyne, and upper Burnett rivers.
No current observations are available for the Burnett River at Mundubbera. However, based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level and rising slowly.
The Burnett River at Mundubbera may peak around the minor flood level (7.00 metres) Friday afternoon.
Auburn River:
Minor flooding has eased along the Auburn River and it's tributaries, however river levels may remain elevated.
Stuart and Boyne Rivers:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Stuart River at Proston. Major flooding is occurring along the Boyne River at Cooranga. Minor flooding is occurring along the Boyne River at Boondooma Dam and Dunollie.
The Boyne River at Dunollie peaked near 6.50 metres around 04:30 am Friday 03 January and is currently at 6.45 metres and falling, above the minor flood level (2.50 metres).
The Boyne River at Dunollie is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.50 metres) during Friday and into Saturday.
Barker and Barambah Creeks:
Moderate flooding is continuing along Barker Creek at Glenmore. Minor flooding has eased along Barambah Creek at Silverleaf Weir.
Burnett River downstream of Mundubbera to Paradise Dam:
Minor flooding may occur along the Burnett River downstream of Mundubbera to Paradise Dam.
No current observations are available for the Burnett River at Gayndah. However, based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is expected to be below the minor flood (5.00 metres) and rising.
The Burnett River at Gayndah may exceed the minor flood level (5.00 metres) Friday afternoon. The river level may peak near 5.50 metres Friday evening.
Burnett River downstream of Paradise Dam:
Minor flooding may occur along the Burnett River downstream of Paradise Dam.
The Burnett River at Walla is currently at 4.96 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (6.00 metres).
The Burnett River at Walla may exceed the minor flood level (6.00 m) Friday afternoon. The river level may reach around 7.00 metres during Saturday.
