    Moderate Flood Warning For The Flinders River And Minor Flood Warning For The Cloncurry River

    MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT RICHMOND
     MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT CLONCURRY
     Moderate to locally heavy rainfall has been observed in parts of the Flinders and Cloncurry Rivers. This rainfall has resulted in river and creek level rises, and minor flooding at Richmond, where moderate flooding is occurring.
     Further areas of widespread rainfall with locally heavy totals are forecast to continue for the next few days, which is likely to result in further river and creek level rises along the Flinders and Cloncurry Rivers.
     A Severe Weather Warning is current for heavy rainfall for parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego Forecast Districts.
     The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
    
    Flinders River to Richmond:
    Moderate flooding is occurring along the Flinders River to Richmond.
    There are no current observations for the Flinders River at Richmond, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is expected to be near the moderate flood level (6.00 m) and rising.
    With forecast rainfall, the Flinders River at Richmond may reach around 6.50 metres Wednesday morning, with moderate flooding.
    
    Flinders River downstream of Richmond:
    River and creek level rises are likely occurring along the lower Flinders River.
    Cloncurry River:
    Minor flooding is occurring along the Cloncurry River.
    The Cloncurry River at Cloncurry is currently at 3.42 metres and falling, above the minor flood level (3.00 m).
    Renewed river level rises are likely with forecast rainfall, and the river level may reach around 4.50 metres Wednesday morning, with minor flooding.
