Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Major Flood Warning For The Georgina River And Eyre Creek Issued at 12:22 PM AEST on Monday 16 March 2026 Flood Warning Number: 59 SIGNIFICANT RENEWED RISES AND MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BEDOURIE AND GLENGYLE MAJOR FLOODING SLOWLY EASING AT MARION DOWNS The main flood peak is now along Eyre Creek and approaching Bedourie and Glengyle, where significant renewed creek level rises are occurring. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast across western parts of the Georgina River and Eyre Creek catchments for the next few days. This situation is being monitored and this warning will be updated as required. Georgina River to Marion Downs: Moderate to major flooding is slowly easing along the Georgina River between Roxborough Downs and Marion Downs. The Georgina River at Marion Downs is currently at 5.89 m and falling, with major flooding. The Georgina River at Marion Downs is likely to remain above the major flood level (5.00 m) for the next few days. Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs: River levels are elevated along the Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs. Major flooding is occurring along King Creek at Cluny. Eyre Creek: Significant renewed rises are occurring along Eyre Creek, with major flooding occurring at Bedourie and Glengyle. The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is currently at 5.20 m and rising, with major flooding. The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is likely to remain above the major flood level (5.00 m) for the next few days, with continued rises above the major flood level possible over the coming days as upstream flows arrive. The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is currently at 5.10 m and steady, with major flooding. The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is likely to remain above the major flood level (4.00 m) for the next few days, with further rises possible as upstream flows arrive.
