    Warning for the following areas:
    Furneaux Islands, North East, East Coast, Central North, Midlands, South East, Central Plateau, Western, North West Coast and King Island
    Cancellation for the following areas:
    Upper Derwent Valley
    
    Safety Advice::
     Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
     Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
     Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
     If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
    
    Maximum temperatures in the mid to high twenties, and overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid teens.  
    
    Severe heatwave conditions have eased below warning threshold in the Upper Derwent Valley, and will ease in other districts over the next day or so. Low intensity heatwave conditions will persist in the north of the State until the weekend.  Locations likely to be impacted include Burnie, Devonport, Dover, Launceston, Oatlands, St Helens, Swansea, Strahan, Scottsdale and Whitemark.
    
    The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EDT on Wednesday 05 February 2025
