  • Anzac Day dawn service weather forecast around Australia

    Felix Levesque, 23 April 2025

Anzac Day is this Friday, 25 April, so how’s the weather looking around each capital city for those attending the dawn service?

Looking at the synoptic image below, showers and storms are possible over parts of Tasmania and Victoria with a low pressure trough and cold front, and eastern NSW with moist onshore winds. A lesser chance of rainfall is expected over SA and southeast Queensland. High pressure should keep WA’s west on the dry side as well.

Clearer skies with high pressure over WA will bring a chilly dawn service, while increased humidity and cloud cover over southeast Australia should keep temperatures on the milder side.

    Canberra

    Perth

Perth will have a chilly start to the day with clear skies bringing a forecast minimum of 9°C. A mild and mostly sunny day with a top of 22°C is expected on Anzac Day.

    Adelaide

Adelaide will be very comfortable at dawn, with a minimum temperature of 16°C forecast, light winds and a cozy blanket of cloud. The day will then warm up to about 24°C and should remain dry.

    Hobart

Hobart will also be quite comfortable for the early service, with a minimum temperature of 14°C. Cloud cover with the nearby low pressure trough will be maintained throughout the day, with a maximum of 21°C expected, and possible showers in the evening.

    Darwin

Darwin should be dry around dawn, with possible showers later in the day. The day will warm from about 24°C to 33°C.

As the sun rises, Australians will come together to remember and pay tribute to those who served.

    Lest we forget.
