Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Bellinger River

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT THORA FROM EARLY SUNDAY MORNING
Rainfall over the last few days has caused small river level rises in the Bellinger River. With forecast rainfall, minor flooding is possible at Thora from early Sunday morning.
The situation is being closely monitored and the flood warning will be updated as required.
Bellinger River:
Minor flooding may occur along the Bellinger River.
The Bellinger River at Thora is currently at 2.04 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (3.00m).
With forecast rainfall, the Bellinger River at Thora may reach the minor flood level (3.00 m) early Sunday morning. Further rises are possible.

Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous}
