Minor Flood Warning For The Hastings River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WAUCHOPE
 Moderate to heavy rainfall associated with Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred has been recorded across the Hastings River catchment since Wednesday morning. Minor flooding is occurring at Wauchope.
 A Flood Watch is current for parts of the NSW Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, North West and Central West Catchments.
 This situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as necessary.

Hastings River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Hastings River.

The Hastings River at Kindee Bridge peaked at 4.95 metres around 05:00 am Sunday, with minor flooding, and is currently at 4.59 metres and falling below the minor flood level.
The Hastings River at Kindee Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.70 m).

The Hastings River at Wauchope is currently at 2.55 metres and near a peak with minor flooding.
The Hastings River at Wauchope is likely to remain around the minor flood level (2.50 m) Sunday afternoon.

The Hastings River at Settlement Point is currently at 0.30 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Hastings River at Settlement Point is expected to remain below the minor flood level (1.20 m).

 *Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
 *Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
 *Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
 *Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}
