Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Burrum And Cherwell Rivers Catchments

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT HOWARD MONDAY AFTERNOON
 MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT PACIFIC HAVEN WITH HIGH TIDE MONDAY EVENING
 Moderate to locally heavy rainfall has been observed across the Burrum and Cherwell catchments overnight Sunday into Monday. River and creek level rises are occurring across the catchment, with minor flooding likely at Howard and Pacific Haven from Monday afternoon and evening, respectively.
 Further showers and the chance of a thunderstorm are forecast over the next day or two, which may cause further small river and creek level rises.

Burrum and Cherwell Rivers:
Minor flooding is likely along the Burrum and Cherwell Rivers.
The Burrum River at Howard is currently at 4.86 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Burrum River at Howard is likely to exceed the minor flood level (6.00 m) Monday afternoon. A minor flood peak is likely Monday evening.

The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven is currently at 0.84 metres and falling with the tide, below the minor flood level.
The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven may reach around the minor flood level (2.50 metres) Monday evening with the high tide.
