Major Flood Warning For The Diamantina River

MAJOR FLOODING SLOWLY EASING AT BIRDSVILLE
 Moderate to heavy rainfall during late March and early April has caused significant river level rises and flooding across the Diamantina River catchment.
 The river levels along the Diamantina River at Birdsville are easing slowly and are likely to remain above the major flood level through to Wednesday.
 No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
Moderate flooding is continuing along the Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes. The river level is currently at 5.30 metres and falling, which is 3.20 metres above the level of the causeway on the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road (2.10 m).
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Moderate to major flooding is occurring along the Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes between Monkira and Birdsville. Moderate flooding is occurring at Monkira and major flooding is occurring at Roseberth Station.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville was at 8.35 metres and slowly falling at 9:00 am Monday morning, above the major flood level (8.00 m).
The Diamantina River at Birdsville is likely to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) through to Wednesday.
